We chose to partner with eco-friendly suppliers with great experience. Sourcing the stones takes time and special skills. We aim to use most top quality semi-precious and unique stones for our timepieces.
From sourcing to cutting the best stones, these German artisans are jewelry experts who artfully slice through top layers with precision to reveal the true inherent beauty of the stone.
It is then sent to Swiss watchmakers for final assembly. Our Swiss partner takes pride in crafting every mechanism of the watch, sharing our passion for excellence and care for detail.
Each cut results in a unique stone dial that is carefully examined to pass our stringent quality controls. Only the best and unique stones dials will be featured in our timepieces.
Lapis Lazuli is a metamorphic rock known for its iridescent shades of blue. The stone’s celestial blue coloring is created by the mineral Lazurite. Commonly, the most sought after Lapis are stones containing lesser impurities, forming a monochromatic surface. At MYKU, we celebrate the individuality of each surface, created by unique inclusions. We take pride to work with our craftsmen to cut the stones meticulously in order to showcase the most unique patterns in our timepieces, complimented by the divine blue.
Since ancient times, Lapis Lazuli has been treasured for its deep, beautiful blue. The name Lapis Lazuli derives from Latin and Persian, literally meaning blue stone. Historically , Lapis Lazuli has been highly prized for its symbolism of royalty, honor and most importantly, wisdom and truth. It was believed to be the fifth stone used for the original breastplate of the High Priest in Christianity. Lapis has also been used as jewelry, dyes and medicinal elixirs for Egyptian kings, queens and priests to indicate their status as gods. Lapis Lazuli is believed to help opening our minds and enhancing our intellectual abilities.
Howlite is a borate mineral known for its porcelain white or ivory coloring, pronounced with grayish veins. This gem is a popular choice with jewelers due to its porous surface, easily absorbing color. Celebrating Howlite’s stunning purity, MYKU appreciates the natural color of this beautiful rock. All stones are carefully selected and only the most indigenously beautiful pieces are showcased in our timepieces.
Discovered and named by Henry How in 1868 in California, this stone was originally seen as a nuisance by gypsum miners. Over time since its relatively recent discovery, Howlite became prized for its color-absorbing characteristics. Native Americans called it the “White Buffalo Stone”. It is considered as a stone of calmness and tranquility as many believe wearing it will give a balanced mood and promote a positive mind.
Malachite is a copper carbonate mineral and appears in changing facets of green, usually in banded tones varying from dark to a mellow green, without fading over time. It takes a highly skilled craftsman to craft and showcase the concentric bands on each unique dial, following the curves of a work of art like contours on a rugged terrain. We take pride to hand-select and feature only the most beautiful creations for our timepieces.
Derived from the Greek word “molochitis lithos”, this divine stone embodies the deep, healing green of nature. It is known as “Stone of Transformation”; spending strength, bringing positive change and gentleness to the heart. We are obsessed with this stone for its different hues of green blended together naturally to form a one-of-a-kind pattern each time.
Sardonyx or Red Onyx is a variety of layered Chalcedony consisting of different shades of milky white with deep red accents or brown agate. This fascinating stone is a natural hybrid of Sard and Onyx, both minerals, giving the stone its distinctive fiery red pattern. High quality red onyx is mesmerizing through its brilliance and colorful vibrancy. MYKU hand-selected and crafted the best pieces to be featured in our timepieces.
There was a time when Red Onyx was known to be more valuable than Sapphires and Gold. The stone was most famously worn by Roman soldiers as protection, engraved and kept in a talisman around their necks, when venturing into battle. Women wore Red Onyx as necklaces, adorned with images of Venus, as the stone was believed to harness the power of love. Until today, this mythical stone is believed to stimulate happiness and charm, prospering its wearers chances of finding true lasting love and friendship.
Nature has been continuously solving problems it has been facing for more than 4 billions years. Its beauty is fascinating. As designers, we have a lot to learn and to get inspired from it. The sunflower found its way to optimise the production of its offsprings. It efficiently packed the maximum seeds it possibly can on a given area which generates a beautiful geometrical figure. At first sight, the pattern seems to be symmetrical but it is not. It has its randomness that made each single sunflower unique. This is this uniqueness that we are celebrating.
Tiger's eye is an iridescent gemstone; a member of the quartz family. Primarily found in Western Australia, South Africa, and United States; Tiger’s eye known for its remarkable chatoyancy caused by rich layers of golden to red-brown colors. These warm and radiant stones are usually given a cabochon cut to best display their chatoyance and to bring out their silky, lustrous texture.
For centuries, this marvelous stone of golden rays resembling the Sun, has been attributed to numerous myths and powers and has been used as a talisman since the early days of Egyptian civilization.
